I have a Windvest on my '07 Bob. I have played with the adjustment quite a bit and have not found a way to keep it from creatingmajor buffeting to the point where my glasses are about to fly off my head at 70+. Can anyone who is happy with theirs please let me know what they found to be the best combination of height and tilt adjustment? Thanks in advance!
Put your arm across your chest like you are saluting while you are at speed. if the buffeing lessens or goes away you simplest fix is to get a Jack Flap Areovest on the featured sponsor st the right.
The more complicated answer is trying a lot of different windshields and/or some lower deflectors on your front forks.
The wind tends to ride up yor legs so the more you can straighten them out at highway speedsthe better off you will be.
I have a 14" x 14" Windvest on my 06 WG (with streetslammers) and get no buffetting what so ever. It is attached to the risers and follows the line of the front forks. It is about one inch higher than my stock mirrors. I'm 6' tall but all arms and legs so I don't sit very tall.
Do atank lift if you don't already have one. Most of the buffeting is coming from below and this helps to direct airflow down.A small windshield bag at the base of the shield helps. Mine is aligned to flow with the line of the fork tubes, now, but before the tank lift I had to tilt it forward and inch or two to reduce buffeting.
Strong, shifty surface winds will still cause a little buffeting at high speeds, but under normal condition I get little or no buffeting. I've ridden for a coupla hours at a time at speeds of ninety to ninety five and experienced no discomort from buffeting.
