All my buddies bought bikes after me and started getting into touring (Nova Scotia, out west etc.) from Mass. So ive thought about a Street Glide but im going to wait until I own the Street Bob first. No real time right now (3 yr old twins) to go touring but I can go buzzing around on the hot rod.....they wish they had mine as much as I wish I had theirs (sometimes) Someday both. Get or keep the one that best suits the type of riding you do.
I've had my 08 Street Bob about a month. Not only is it my first Harley it's my first bike. I WILL have a Street Glide, just as soon as I can pay off the Bob. There's no way I'm getting rid of this bike. Come on guys there not women you can have a harem when it comes to bikes.
There are days that I wish I had bought the SG, more for my wife than anything, and if I had, and put as much $ into that as I did my LR, I would have one hell of a SG for sure.
Well, putting my wife on isn't an option. She's a rider herself and won't ever get on the back and ride bitch. No matter who's driving. It's a control issue. I'd be putting my 11 year old son on the back, but not to often. As cool as it is getting picked up in front of the whole school on a rumblin Harley, highway bumps scare the kid to death. Something about his butt coming up off the seat at 70mph keeps him on it only when he has to.
I've got the windshield and bags (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2132/...3050bad2_b.jpg) and ironically, i've always hated hardbags and fairings, but they're starting to grow on me. I think i'm truly impressed with the lines. I've always felt the Bob looks like a bull and the SG seems to carry that feeling with some hardbags.
My only problem is that i'm an impulse buyer and it gets the best of me sometimes. I'm gonna try to hold out a while and pay off the Bob. But oh boy, is it tough.
