Default Air filter question

I am upgrading my exhaust on a 2008 Fat Bob to V&H Big Shot Staggered.
I have installed the exhaust and the PCIII.

my question is ...Is it nessecary to upgrade the air filter to a Stage 1 or will a filter like a K&N work.

Thanks

The K&N will work, but I would buy the K&N stage 1 kit, the backing plate in the kit is what makes the most difference.

If you've invested that much money for the pipes and PCIII, go ahead and do the stage 1 A/C. You can get an Arlen Ness Stage 1kit with a K&N (it's at least a K&N clone) for around $120 online. Can probably find screamin eagle and/or K&N stage 1 kits for similar prices as well.

I have been shopping for a Stage 1 kit as well. I will save you the leg work.
Eastern Performace K&N for $122- B/S for $99
