As you can see, there is a lot of temporary BS going on. The coil holder, the ignition holder, the WIRING (lol) are all in progress.
The frame was cut at both the horizontal and vertical seat rail areas. The horizontals were removed and the shock mount portion was simply turned over and re-welded. New horizontals were fab'd and re-welded to the frame, thus dropping the entire seating area about 4". New shocks (11") were utilized to bring the belt/swingarm geometry back to specs.
I also relocated the rear master cylinder to a homemade bracket in front of the brake pedal. Why spend the $$$ on new forward controlswhen you can do it yourself?

My next dilema is installing a righthand shifter. I am keeping the stock clutch but adding a '1/2 Jockey Shift' into the fray! Should be interesting!
I cannot believe all the cool looking bikes on this forum! They give me incentive to continue!
Peace
I'd like to see some better pix.
Couple questions -
'1/2 Jockey Shift'???????
installing a righthand shifter????
..............seems kinda awkward when I read it.

1/2 Jockey is my moniker for: Standard clutch position (L hand) and jockey shift lever located on right side, not left as is a standard suicide shift.
So, you clutch-in, release the throttle and reach back and shift!
Cool beans!

Pics are on their way, as the bike is in progress right now!

A"traditional"suicide shifter is located on the left side of the rider with the clutch operated by their left foot. My "1/2 Jockey shift" will retain the original handlebar mounted clutchbut will shift with a right-handed shifter so you must release the throttle when shifting. As you roll off the throttle before shifting anyway, this (hopefully) will not be an issue! The oldies had the shifter mounted on the gas tank but I wan't to do something different. [8D]
First rideshould be interesting (I think I'll leave my video camera at home for that one!)
I've ridden suicide shifters before and, as cool as they are, stopping on hills and having to make an immediate turn when you start off,is aPITA! My hat's off to those who have mastered that circus act! LOL!
Peace!
