OK guys I got this kit. Is it as simple as it looks. Any surprises I should know about? I have a 2007 FXDI and plan on mounting signals on the lower 3tree bracket. Do I need new bolts or are the ones supplied OK? Knew to biking and HD. Trying to do some mods myself w/o f---ing things up and voiding my wonderful warrantee.
Any help is appreciated.
Dan
I like personalizing my bike, but what's with the fascination with moving the front directionals? They are one of the looks that is "different" from most other bikes on the road. Also, I think having them up higher makes them more visible to cagers which is a good thing.
Yeah Rok, I used the spacer and supplied bolts. I wish I had come across this kit a year ago when I did my relocate the first time with the "batwings" from HD.
Dynamite17......You were asking why the the fascination of relocating the front turn signals...I own an 07 FXDC and the reason I am going to move the signals,is that when I crank the handle bars around my signal lights actually hit the gas tank. I've tried to adjust them so they won't, but I can't get any more adjustment out of them. I first realized they hit when turning the handle bar all of the way to the left, to lock the forks, and I heard the signal hit the tank and thought this can't be good!!!! So now I'm trying to figure out which way I want to go with the relocation. There is alot of good info here, just need to figure which way to go!!!!!
I have an 07 FXDC. I swapped out the stock bars for Lowrider bars and have the same issue. The bars hit the tank on turns and I have had to adjust my controls up to compensate (not what I want).
I have a set of the 49mmKury clamps sitting on my workbench still in the boxbut after seeing the J&P kit I've decided not to use them. I ordered the J&P kit yesterday. Just wondering if it will be possible to get a slightly longer bolt and chrome spacer to push them out about an inch?
As usual the MOCO is about a day late and a doller short...probably over priced as well.Thier new kit looks allot better than thier old kit but unlike this J&P kit still requires an extra clamp.
