Default Will my Dyna fit in this trailer???

Hope someone here can help. I just bought a 2003 low rider and need to get it home. Living in central ny does not allow me to ride it home with snow and salt on the roads. I checked into U-Haul and they have a 5' x 8' enclosed trailer available. They claim those dimensions are inside dimensions, based on those dimensions I should have 3" to spare. I plan to go and verify the inside dimension tomorrow. Has anyone here used one of these enclosed trailers for their dyna? Is the 93" long dimension that Harley has in the specs the full length including the tail light? Any info you have will help. Thanks!

I have a 5 X 8 enclosed trailor and I have hauled all sorts of bikes in it. The rear door comes really close to the taillight though. I have hauled a 2007 fat boy, a 2007 street bob, and a 2001 wideglide, so if they fit, your lowrider should. Its not a u-haul trailor, but I just thought maybe this would help. Just make sure that you put some sort of wheel chock in the front, even if it is just screwing a couple 2 x 4's to the floor to keep the wheel from turning.

FYI you will find that there is (in most cases) no trusted tie down points in a U-haul where you can strap and compress the suspension....you can get away with strapping in light dirt bikes but you better be real careful with a big bike that weighs at least 600+ lbs. You can get a wheel chalk that will screw down to the floor but again you need some big screws to secure it for the load you are trying to hold.

good luck

Thanks for the replies guys!
Treasure - I will definitely check the tie down points when I check it out tomorrow, you made a very good point.
I guess if the u-haul won't work I may need to use my open trailer.

If you do go with the open trailer, I'd suggest you pull the seat and place it inside the truck. My father got caught by an unexpected snow storm trailering to Daytona several years ago. Over a year later he still had road salt seeping out at the seams of the seat when he washed the bike.

Wouldn't be a bad Idea to Put a couple of moving blankets over the bike before putting a tarp on. The wind with "just a tarp" will chaf and wear the paint where ever it comes in contact with. Had this happen on a Truck with tarp over contents in truck bed.

Before I bought my trailer I too looked in to this. Like treasure said the only place to tie down are on the side rails. I looked at a few and was too scared to try it as they did not look sturdy enough for a large bike. You can find some good covered trailers at decent prices if you look on places like Craigslist. I got one in Texas that was a 2006 with **** still on the tires for $3k. It was loaded with everything needed including a heavy duty chock.

I have had my super glide on a 8ft trailer...it is very close to not fitting. You may need to put it on diagial on the trailer to gain another 6 inchs or so and it will fit.I dont think awide glide willfit on a 8 ft trailer.
