Has anyone seen or done this swap? I'd like to have the duel front breaks and this looks like the easiest and cheapest way. I have a FLH master cylinder and havefound a crashed 03 V-Rod for the donor Forks and wheel. Both have 49mm forks so how hard can the swap be?
The only issue is that the v-rod fork assemblies are shorter by someting like 2" than the standard dyna assemblies. If the lower ride height is an issue the inner tubes from a wide glide should put you where you need to be. I haven't made the change, but I've beed doing my research.
A forum member has successfully done this. I ran into his post in a thread about better brakes options on the Dynas. Do a search and you should be able to find him.
Japan i think that he just swapped the lower leg on one side so that he could run the duel brakes... what about using the front end from aFt bob... ... if you just pull the forks and lower sliders they should bolt right up... boom... duel disks... i have been wrong before though... it was a tuesday i will never forget it
