I have an 07 Low Rider and it was thigh burning hot, but seems to run cooler now that I've switched to synthetic oil.

I guess it depends on what you consider to be hot, as compared to what?
If you put in syn, you should be able to cool er' down by 20 degrees.
Remember, Twin Cams run hotter than do evos.
Oil cooler might help a little more.

You know guys, I can't believe how many posts I see "should I do Stage 1 to get my bike to run cooler". Guys, getting more air and gas into the motor, and getting it out better, errr, makes a bigger, better "boom" in there. So I'm not sure why it'll make it run cooler. I think your experiences back that up. So if you want to do a Stage 1, do it, stop using "better cooling" as an excuse.

There are only two options - one, get the download from the dealer that when the bike is doin nothing, it turns off the rear cylinder (gas and spark I believe) which cools the motor on parade duty. To cool it while riding, ad an oil cooler, which will cool the oil, which is the only real fluid in a Harley that provides any cooling to the motor.

Oh, one more option. You can buy a replacement for your stock horn, a third party, that blows a jet of cool air on both jugs.
I think this is it http://www.easternperformance.com/in...8220fe00a935fe

I rode my bike today (with my new PCIII) on a nice warmer than usual day, the temp was very notacible cooler, getting away from a lean A/F most definatly cools the engine.

I hope HD reads some off these post and starts mapping the new bikes to run a safe temperture, especially in town,
I don't believe this is possible with an air cooled motor this big running this lean. You basically got two choices, 1 deal with it or 2 warm up to the idea of liquid cooling and buy a vrod or a metric .

Ed you forgot the third .....Throw some fuel at it when you tune it. A/F 13.2 -13.7 and switch to SyntheticFluids....My 96 never went over 240 this last summer in 90+ in DC traffic...look at the A/F thats was my concern not HP or Tq ...

Lotta bullshit keystroked here on this topic.

Above takes the cake.

On the other hand,
some well informed typing I do see.

Gotta love the WorldWideInterJet.

Trotters got it right. These things are just way too phukin lean from the factory..PERIOD
adding fuel will definitely cool it off and make it run better.I,d skip the download and get yourself another method for tuning as well since the downloads tend to be lean as well. Thank your local tree hugger for this bullshit!!
