Dyna low Rider Runs hot
You know guys, I can't believe how many posts I see
"should I do Stage 1 to get my bike to run cooler".
Guys, getting more air and gas into the motor, and getting it out better,
errr, makes a bigger, better "boom" in there.
So I'm not sure why it'll make it run cooler.
I think your experiences back that up.
So if you want to do a Stage 1, do it, stop using "better cooling" as an excuse.

Above takes the cake.
On the other hand,
some well informed typing I do see.
Gotta love the WorldWideInterJet.

I don't get it what do you mean by "Lotta bullshit keystroked here on this topic"?
It just Fellow HDFDyna brothers As you say.Posting and nothing more.
How EXACTLY Should we all be doing it????
This is good to know for potential new buyers and could a deterant obviously. I don't think many want to buy a bike that runs excessively hot and fries your nads up, that does not sound like fun.
What about those who want to keep the stock exhaust, will an oil cooler, syn oil, and richen up the fuel be ok to solve this heat issue? I assume you guys do the fuel adjustment yourself because the dealer is restricted from doing that type of work if outside their guidelines? I see the A/F ranges posted above and not sure if the dealer has the same A/F guidelines, thats all. Since it's fuel inj, is it a different computer chip or reprogram the existing eprom somehow? I do not know the specifics on fuel injection on a bike, but assume it's gets it pulses from some type of computer type box.
Is it 12 Volt or you gonna need another Battery

I do feel for anyone that has to ride any bike, water cooled or air cooled in city traffic, in hot weather.
I got stuck in Chesapeake Bridge traffic last summer, and thought the bike and me were gonna roast. Finally got off the road, shut the bike down and stripped off the riding gear I started out with in the mountains. Took longer to get across the Bay Bridge than it did to get there from Mountain Falls.
The A/C quit working on the Dyna, as soon as I hit Annapolis traffic.

Robert .. have an 07 Low Rider myself.. and yes the bigger 96' runs somewhat hotter than the older 88... bigger equals more heat, and lower gas mileage... so much so that I added anHD Oil Cooler, and oil dipstick LCD temp gauge,

I'm very curious as well about what is "keystroke bs" about this heat issue?
Does this mean the heat issue does not exist but happens to a few select lemons??

Lotta questions there Blue.
First the keystroke BS reference -
here is what I said -
"Lotta bullshit keystroked here on this topic.

Gotta love the WorldWideInterJet."
As to above takes the cake I was referring to the keystrokes stating -
"So if you want to do a Stage 1, do it, stop using "better cooling" as an excuse."
I also mentioned "well informed typing" -
This topic of discussion has plain flat outbullshit,
as well as legitimate, informed, factual statements.
Take my keystrokes as one way or the other
Your other questions and assumptions -
Yes heat issue does exist -
(big thank you goes out to the tree huggers,
do not blame this on HD).
oil cooler, syn oil, and richen up the fuel be ok to solve this heat issue? -
helps, yes, although there are a lot of ifs, ands, and buts,
attached to a more complete answer. Ask for more info if you like.
assumingfolks do their ownfuel adjustment -
that would be a definite maybe.
Some do.
Others have sympathetic dealers
(I have to plead the fifth and won't go any further here)
Your last paragraph went way over my head with pea brain enclosed.

Darn, missed checking that box off on the order form! [sm=chairshot.gif]
Any links to a good aftermarket A/C unit that'll fit an '07? Couldn't find any on the moco website or in J&P.
The fuel injector question relates to fuel adjustment actually. The fuel injectors I've seen with cars have wires on them and those wires eventually connect to the ecm (computer box) that has a memory chip (eprom). This computer box tells the injector how much fuel to squirt, duty cycles ... etc, etc. A way to adjust the fuel richness. I'm not sure how it is on a Dyna though. I wasn't sure if owners typically do that as it has to be connected to a computer or hand device to change the computer box settings (if there is one). It has to get a pulse single from somewhere though.
Bummer, this heat issue stinks. Low Riders are very hard to find to rent, but I finally found one clear across the state so we will see.
