I thought someone on this forum bought a Motherwell rack for their Fat Bob? I called Motherwell and they told me the rack would not fit the Fat Bob unless I either drilled a hole in the fender or modified the rack. Is this right?

They are probably right as there is no other hole to fix to if your using the original seat . If you change to a solo as I have doneit frees up the original seat mount which you could use if it lines up . And yes someone did put a rack on the bob I think it was BOSTON but I reckon he had a solo seat fitted .
They told me the FB had two holes at the end of the stock seat that would be freed up with a solo seat. They said the rack used a single center hole so a new hole would have to be drilled. Can't check because my FB is still at the dealer awaiting parts for the 103 build. Won't have it home until sometime in Feb.
Funny coincidence ... I actually liked the chrome look of the H-D rack (Bobtail Fender Rack, part# 56802-06) and ordered me one last week. Came in today and here's what it looks like; sorry for the crappy pics, only had the cell phone in my pocket and was too lazy to get the camera ...
Can put up better pics sometime tomorrow or so if anyone's interested. Installation was easy but you need to drill two holes to the left and to the right of the tail light (there's even markings on the bottom of the tail light "holder" or whatever that pathetic lump of plastic is called).
