Other than the Motherwell solo rack, HD makes the bobtail rack for the Fat Bob and it looks like it was meant to be there. Flows great with the fender.
Far as I know they only make one style rack for the Fat Bob and thats the Bobtail rear fender rack like the HD P/N 56802-06
and whether you run it with a two up seat or a solo is irrelevant because it mounts using the rear seat bolt and then a flat plate that rests on the license plate plastic crap thingy which requires you to make two new drilled holes. Here is a hdforum thread showing a Fat Bob with the bobtail rack and a fender bib that looks pretty nice https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...gage-rack.html
If you want a rack that actually sits directly behind a solo seat for a more seamless look it would require either custom fabbing one or finding the one with the look you want and then drilling whatever holes are necessary into the fender to mount it because no one makes a solo rack for the FXDF. Probably more for structural strength reasons. You could also just get a sissy bar mount one and take off the sissy bar uprights and pad. Probably look kind of weird though, but would be unique lol.
I need a rack that attaches at the struts; I put a decent size tour bag behind me when I travel and I don't even have passenger pegs...my rig is definitely "solo"...wife has an '08 FXDL and HD makes a detachable for hers, it wont fit mine very easily though...I may have to just buy some rigid sideplates for an '08 and go fabbin...the Motherwell racks don't quite look like what I'm after to put a big bag on behind me...the weight shouldn't be on the fender but on the struts...thanks for the responses; I'll post a pic when I'm done building one.
Anyone rig a solo rack on a Fat Bob? I see the HD one is listed as not fitting...
Here's how I rigged mine...
Drilled & tapped holes into the naked fender struts for the standard docking hardware.
Then, using a bottle jack, I spreed the legs on the rack till it fit onto the hardware.
