What would you guys recommend for handlebars to replace the stock bars on a 07 Super Glide? I'm looking for something a few inches back and like the look of the Street Slammer type bars. A compromise between looks and comfort. Ithink the headache is mounting the speedo. I also would like to the wires inside. Any advice? Any ideas on price including labor? Thanks in advance.
If you go with street slammers, then you can buy a mount for the speedo - but forget about the idiot lights.
the mount is about 140 in chrome. and you can possibly flip it to the underside of the bars it they are long enough to give tank clearance clarence.
there is another option where you can use a pre 2005 mount and then an accutronix clamp. the mount can be found on ebay for $10 (black) and the clamp is around $100. with this setup you can not mount underneath and it may look goofy, depending on how high you have to mount it.
now - have not even talked about the cables and brake line.
The best advice I can give is find a set of bars that works with the existing speedo/clamp setup.
searching the information superhigway for options will make your eyes bleed and you will get nowhere.
check out flea402 for a cool setup - once again - you'll lose the idiot lights.
Check out the khrome werks sweepers in my sig pic. They look like small mini apes, but have a good amount of pull back and feel like drag bars. They are under $60, take stock wires, use stock clamp, and (IMHO) look good.
