Shout wont damage the paint
But I would have reservations about leaving it to soak for much more than a few minutes.
The 10% surfactants they dont talk about in the MSDS are diglycol based, and will attack lacquers after a while. Wont affect the powder coat.
Just make sure you rinse it off real good

and +6 on the Mac

i have been using shout since i heard about hit from an old timer when i was out cleaning my wheels on an old honda CB i used to have... sure enough... works like a top... i know people that i ride with spray it all over... NOT ME... just on the wheels... does the job, just replaced the pads with lyndal so i have big hopes!

Joe, you brought up an interesting question...
since I havent tried Shout myself, I wonder how it affects the brake pads?

I've been using some spray stuff in a purple bottle I got from Pep Boys. Cleans the wheels like a charm, but contaminates the heck out of the brake pads. I have to be careful for the first couple of miles before I feel like I have anything that feels like brakes.
