Scientifically, air molecules do not cling to the chrome below 40 mph, but as speeds increase above 40, the parasitic drag factor of the chrome actually begins to slow the bike down due to the reflection and refraction of ambient light creating a negative time/space continuum (see relativity), whereas the black color absorbs the energy of the sun, which the bike uses as stored up energy to assist inspeed increases above40 mph. These effects can be nulled out by a healthy balance of both chrome and black being used, which will allow passersby to completely appreciate the quantum effect of said substances on said material. Its simple physics.

A jigawatt is probably the amount of energy measured in ohms (for the resistance experienced), and of course watts, for the amount of energy spent, in making a jig work, whether making said jig is successful or not.

I bought my Super glide a year ago and immediately joined this forum. As I was dreaming of my purchase, I invisioned something with lots of metal and shine. I soon learned my green-back comfort zone and the desire for buying a bike with all the bling weren't in synch. I bought the bone-stock SG and started looking here for shine ideas. Come to find out, the trend here was black. Kinda thought my game plan had a kink in it.

Then, I got inspired when I ran across Naz's SG (and a few others) and the mods started. My bike now is starting to look like what I used to shop for and day-dream about. I have probably spent more than I should, but I love how its coming. I'd only consider the money as wasted if I wasdressing it upto please others.

There are a lot of beautiful blacked-out bikes here, but the bike I like the most istheridemy Super Glide will one day be.
I think your bike kinda looks like mine in a way.... I like your seat better? Is that stock?

Chrome Chrome Chrome [sm=bling.gif]Is way way faster then black.... Don't believe me just look at my dyno sheet!

black gets to go riding while KROME is still polishing giving him a head start canceling out any speed increase

Black is cooler, literally. Seriously, I just saw something about this on HorsePowerTV, IIRC. A black engine will shed it's heat faster than a chrome one. The chrome reflects the heat back, the black just disipates it.
