Great Job, looks good. But, anyone that thinks you are riding a sportster to begin with is probably just going to think your nickname is "street bob"andyou ride a sportster...LOL
"So, Robert, how long have you had the Sportster?"
Nothing personal against you, its just that I get irritated by the six-figure weekend warriors who wear there chaps while walking around in 90 degree weather at the bike shows who look down at us blue collar ( or should I say green collar being a Marine?) types because we've gone for so long without being able to afford a brand new HD model let alone the overpriced "genuine" parts, "motor clothes", and even the official HD pager reciever that we've come to realize that all that isnt what makes you a biker.
I believe you become a biker when you stop trying to impress everybody and do what you do. I could have taken the easier road and bought a brand new jap cruiser or even a super bike for what I paid for my 12 year old dyna, but I was able to look past the dinosaur elitism that has alienated the younger generation from the HD dealerships, and realized that MY bike had found me. I still cant believe that the people at the dealerships don't understand why I get so upset when they suggest I trade it in.
So if you ever see my poor-*** roaring down the street in my cotton (not leather!) garage jacket and backwards HD ball cap that Ive had since i was in grade school, with a huge **** eatin grin on my face, you'll understand why I believe you dont need a $50 piece of chrome to tell the world that I ride to live, and live to ride.
