I need some help, I have a 05 FXD,I am looking at a ultima inverted front end. BUT, it says it's made for 84-99 FXST wheel. What is the difference between that and a 05 FXD and alsowould brake caliper installation affected?
Different axle, hub and lower fork leg (probably for the different brakes) from 2000 on according to my parts book.....I'd pass.
Very heavy, same technology & as a stock wideglide, need old calipers, and it is a lot of chrome. Perfect for the person who parks his bike out side of the bar. Not so good if you actually want an improvement.
As mentioned the brakes changed in 2000, and the axle changed in 2004.
You would be ill advised to purchase this unit without first checking on the availability of various spacers, etc.
The axle issue can be resolve by mounting an older style wheel, but it's far from the only issue. I'd stay away.
