Some of you may know that I am currently fitting softail floorboards and controls to my 07 fxdl. Anyway I went to my dealer to try to get some information on crashbars and low and behold they had taken an 06 dyna in on trade that had the fxdp boards and crashbar on it. The parts guy told me that they didn't really like the setup and felt it was a bad trade as the setup is not desireable.
I have considered offering my mid take off parts and some money in order to get them. What would you guys pay for a set of used fxdp boards?
To buy the set new is not offered anylonger but the parts are. To build a new set front and rear and all parts is $801. I really wanted rear boards from Harley for the girlfriend and I went back to the 06 book and my dealer did a search and found The rear board set for 94-01 #50877-01 for $195. If you can get your hands on they for cheap you can at least $500 or more for them. And that is my offer for them. By the way my Dyna is all Harley other than pipes.
I purchased a set for $425.00 and I considered that a very good price since they are very difficult to find.
Do you remember what the setup on this bike was for the shifter side.Did the owner have a fabricated mount for the heel/toe shifter bracketor did they use an extended shift lever from the mid-control spline? I am mounting on an 07 and as you know, this bracket does not bolt right up.
they used the shifter mount from the kit. It looks like its pretty easy to modify. I didn't look real close but I think all they did was drill an additional hole forward of the rear hole on the primary bracket. This was bolted up on the outer primary. I don't know where it mounted on the bikes it was designed for.
