first, get a service manual.second, if you just bought it ,did you get any service records? if not, i would change all the fluids because you dont know how long they have been in there. as far as inspection stickers , i cant help much because i dont need one but perhaps someone else could help you out. congrats on your new ride. enjoy

Down here in NC, we have these little inspection stickers that are about 2.5" x 3.5" The dealer gave me a little plate with a hole in it that bolts to the frame, right below the neck where the hole for crash bars is.

Yep, same here on the inspection sticker. I don't know where you can get the plate from but I would bet a dealer would have one of these if inspections are required in your state. It doesn't have to go there - can be mounted anywhere there is a removable bolt. Pic below - look between the frame just below the neck and behind the front fender.

As for your oil/fluids, change them now regardless. I don't know about your year model but the new owners manuals say to change the fluids every 5K miles. I assume you don't have the owner's manual or you wouldn't be asking here. Whether you do or don't, a service manual for your model and year bike will be very helpful. Many times they can be found on ebay fairly cheap.

The Amsoil Synthetic 20-w50 only needs to be changed every 5K miles. Regular dino oil every 2500.

If you got the owners manual withthe bike, that's a start, If I read 1,700 miles and just got a big bore kit in, personaly I would run a quality conventional oil for about a 1,000 more miles then do your synthetics. The owners manual is very basic and user friendly. Drop hints to others when they ask what you need for the bike, tell thema service manual.Good luck and enjoy the bike.

Several different local dealers in my area sell chrome inspection sticker plates similar to the one listed by J & P Cycles and at comparable prices. I have one mounted in the same location as described above.Below is a pic to give you an idea of where it is mounted. I am not sure it meets legal requirements in Virginiawhere it is.

Here is the text for Virginia's requirement:

The decal issued to a motorcycle shall be affixed to the left front side of the cycle where it will be most visible after mounting. The left front shall mean any area from the middle of the cycle forward. The decal may be placed on a plate securely fastened to the motorcycle for the purpose of displaying the decal.

Check your area. I do not know how widely used this standard is.

Pittsburgh, PA here. In PA the law says the inspection sticker must be on the side of the scoot, can not be on the front anywhere. It used to be that if you used a mounting plate that plate had to be a permanent install and could not be attatched to a removeable bolt. I'm pretty sure that isn't so any longer but it must be clearly visible on the left side. Since I was never one to follow the law anyway, I just removed an allen head from the electric caddy cover and attatched my insp. plate there. Pic below.
