Default Drilled Clutch/Brake levers???

Anyone gone out on a limb and drilled the levers on their ride?? Looking to go with the buckshot mirrors from HD and thought it would bee cool to integrate the buckshot look into the levers. I've seen the HD basics for levers. And as usual, not what I'm looking for. Guess I'm wondering if I would destroy the structure of the levers and have them break on me one nice hot day about 100 miles from the house??

I cut the ball off the end and then powdercoated them black and that really changed the look! you may want to look into that before you drill holes in them, they are not that thick... there is a write up in the 50 mod thread... then again if you use a small bit you should be OK... when i cut that ball off i had a new blade on my sawsall and it went through it like butter, personally i do not think it is stucturly sound enough to have holes in them, they will bend, break, or worp, if you do it and then chrome them... that may help... but i do not think i would do it, just my 2cents... I love that red! if you do want to cut them and can not figure out how to do it send them to me... i will do it for you and then send them back, it is pretty easy to do

Well they aremost likelyforged ALU. You should be alright as long as you keep the holes out by the ball at the end. If I was going to do it,I would find out the closest point I can still use the lever and keep the holes past that. So if it did fail you could still get home.
