Default Getting the run around

I ordered my sideshots from American Classic Motors on the 16th and payed for them right away. I didnt get any kind of email from them on Monday about the shipping details or anything. I figure ok they're off for Prez day, thats fine. I get no email today. so I write this>
"I ordered my pipes, item number 350015623829, on 2-16-08. I don't know if you guys were closed for presidents day but thought I should receive some sort of shipping info today. As I stated b4 I am a bit leery when ordering things off eBay and from the inter-net. Please send me the shipment statusand shipping detailson the pipes I ordered."this guy sends me this>"Typically it will take at least 1-3 working days & right now at least 2-5 to get them out. Hang tight; my guys n' galls in shipping are working hard"On the same Saturday I ordered (and payed) them I sent him an email about some rumors that they might be on back order an dhe sent me the reply saying that "they are in stock". My thing is, if they are in stock then why am I haveing to wait up to 5 business days for them to even be shipped.Has any body else had this problem with these guys? One of the main reasons I went with them in first place was because of all the great things I've heard about them in here on The Forum.[sm=feedback.gif]

I've had success ordering from them.

I'd say just to hang in there. An operation like there's probably only employs a handfull of people, if that. If 1 or 2 of them called in sick, it could cause a major delay.

Hope that helps.

Gunshow,

I had an experience that started out similar to yours with these people. It went from bad to worse. If you look at their feedback you will see that they get a good majority of their orders shipped fairly quickly and correctly, but when they screw up, they have a **** poor attitude about it. Instead of trying to fix things and treat the customer right, they show their true colors.

I have ordered from them twice. The first time it took 12 days to get something they had it stock and said they would ship within 2 days of receipt of payment.

The second time I never got the product (they never did provide a tracking number) and I had to go through a 30 day fight to get my money back.

Obviously I will never order from them again.

The few posts I've read about them were Not that positive. I avoid them because of that.
This seems to be a common reply by the eBay sellers, I'm a one man show, My people are working to the limit, etc....
Meanwhile we take in the shorts because they are Cheezin on the employee count.

I don't deal to well with their Pity card. Hire more employees to cover the increase in business. It's all about money, profits and greed. Feedback is a worthless tool as well. A true seller will post feedback right after your instant payment, because IMO you have done your part and now it's up to them to carry the ball.

I ordered a part for a fella on ebay on Dec31st, sent out wrong part twice and now says can't get original part I bid and paid for. 49 days and countingand will see a refund in a week or two. Hopefully!
The sad part is the guy still has auctions for these parts. someone else will get hosed.
Shitty service and shipping is not our issue. Good luck with your parts.

I personaly don't hold ebay transactions in the same light as direct business transactions. Of course I expect my product as described, but it's an online auction afterall. I shop at ebay when I want the lowest price, and I'm willing to accept the risks of buying at auction to get that price. Occasional delayed shipping is par for the course with an ebay deal.....IMO. It doesn't make it right, it just is what it is.

Your Right Jefx, After all, it is an on line garage sale
Some sellers are in over there head as far as I'm concerned.
Have to meet up if and when this WX Breaks, I'm from SW Burbs of Chitown.
Head up north over the Ill /Wisc. border quite a bit.

Aint that the truth. I always assume some risk with an auction.

Some warm weather will be nice....Not too much longer now.

I'm all over between Rockford and the city. Maybe we'll hook up this summer.

I had a similar experience with ACM, was told the product was in stock, (I live about 40 miles away, should have been 1 day UPS), waited 3 days, called, was told they were in stock at another warehouse.About 1 week and 2 days later they show up at my door.

Now, I did save about $80 - $100going through them vs. anyone elses best pricefor my Rineharts. To me, it was worth it, I got the product I wanted, at a cheaper price.

On the other end of the spectrum, I ordered shocks through Eastern Performance, 90 miles away, they were on my doorstep the next day.

I've read good and bad stories on both these stores, but I've gotten the products I've ordered at a good price.

Don't get me started on my local HD Dealership, these guys have screwed me face to face with a big smile (like, oh well, sorry, ha ha, what are you going to do about it?). <--- funny thing is, daughter, and 2 other friends are buying bikes this spring, guess which dealership they are not buying from?

Score to date:

Local Harley Dealer - 3 screwings (but they did it with a smile)

Ebay - none (just had to wait a little on a couple items)

I've had good luck with AC on a number of items and usually get my stuff within a week from them which is typical for most ebay sellers, some may be a little quicker depending how far they have to ship. Not sure why anyone would be upset with a 2-5 day promise to ship and know it might take another 2-5 to get it depending on distance - most mail order companies (whether ebay or not) are in that range, just depends how busy they are. At least they responded to your enquiry when they got back into work after the holiday weekend - not all sellers are that good. But I realize a few have had some problems with AC. Try to be patient, but understand some things take a little time.
