I have looked all over the place online, looking for a replacement gas gauge for my bike. It seems that all I can find is gauges for later models. My gauge is mounted just below the gas cap on the dash. It has about 8 allen bolts that hold the trim ring on, and the gauge itself is mounted under that. The glass or poly lens that covers the needle is almost too cloudy to read through. Can anyone tell me where to look to find a replacement?

 

I had the same prob on a 1996 dyna.What you can try and it works for awhile is get som plastic polish it worked preety good for a few weeks at a time. also I have heard where you can replace it with a piece of glass cut. Other then that perhaps if you can find out the part number there might be a dealer sitting on one. btw mine was on the outside.

Let's get a refresh on this post. My gas guage too has a cracked and cloudy lens which appears to be made of plexiglass. Has anyone removed and disassembled the lens from the gas guage on a 1997 super Glide? would love some advice on this.

 

Mine's still readable, but getting worse. I've tried Meguiars Plast-X polish which helps a bit but I'd still like to find a new one...

 

Im curious if anybody has modded it to something else... like a mini speedo or tach gauge. Eureka!
