Heat issue Softail vs Dyna
I test rode a Heritage and a Low Rider. I noticed the Heritage put off more heat especially on my right inner thigh. I understand the Softails have the oil tank on the right side just under the seat and I was told by the dealer that the Dynas have their oil tank under the transmission. Could this be the reason for the extra heat? Has anyone else ridden both Softail and Dyna models and noticed a difference? I'm deciding between a Softail Custom and a Super Glide Custom and this will help me decide. Thanks.

The oil tank on a softail is directly under the seat (on both sides with the filler on the right). This definitely can cause addtional heat felt in the upper legs and maybe even the butt.

I have both Soft Tail and Dyna and I dont feel any differance.... Except that I sit alot lowerinto my night train than my street bob...And the 08's run hotter than the 06's.. Which one rides and fit's you better ? Heat Issue is Easy to solve...

I have an '08 FXDC, and had some heat issues. After I went to Stage 1, it dropped considerably. I'm thinking of going synthetic and seeing if this helps out any more. Not bad, but it used to geta little warm on my *** and junk; letsjust say I would get some pretty goodswamp *** and jungle *****. "Problem" seems to be pretty much gone now though.
