Default Running hot

My bike seems to be running pretty hot and the weather isnt too warm yet here in New Mexico. I know the bikes come out a little lean but I was just wondering if everyone has noticed a significant drop in the engine temperature after adding EM such as a power commander or fuelpak??

Default RE: Running hot

"Hot" is pretty subjective, yes they do run hot bone stock from the factory because to get by EPA standards they have to be tuned as lean as they possibly can.Yes, getting a tuner and recalibrating the fuel injectiuon will make them run noticably cooler BUT it's still a big air cooled motor and it's still going to be unpleasant sitting still on a hot day.It also doesn't help that the hottest part of the exhaust system is right under your right leg.Mine's been tuned on a dyno it has the headers wrapped and I'm running synthetic oil and it 's still no fun sitting at red light in the summer time.
