Never had this happen before to me. I am running an arlen ness Air cleaner and backing plate. These have banjo bolts that vent right at the mouth of the throttle body through the backing plate. Well, for the last week I have been getting a steady 2 cap fulls (like the lid of a quart of oil, cap) cap fulls of oil on the top of my cam cover coming from the A/C. It looks like it has water or moisture or condensation or something mixed with it. I checked my oil and no moisture in it. But everytime it drips out it has moisture in it. I've had my A/C torn down 5 times and dont see any "moisture" .. so where is it coming from and why is it pukin enough oil out that it leaks down through my A/C and puddles up everyday. If I go for a longer hour or 2 ride it pukes out about 5-6 cap fulls of oil. ANyone have or had a similar problem??? I wonder if the dealership will even fix it under warranty due to the arlenn ness Air CLeaner, rinehart pipes and power commander. I am hoping it is not an umbrella valve that is stuck or broke or maybe pinion shaft that is out of alignment or oil pump misalligned .... god who knows.
Not trying to minimalize your problem, but starting simple first to remove any assumptions. Have you changed your oilor added oil lately.
Too much oil in the crankcase and some ends up in the A/C. Several post here about guys who have put in 3 quarts doing an oil change and had symptoms like yours.
Make sure your breather line from the crankcase isn't pinched or blocked. You'll find it under the bike, running along the frame on Evos. I had similar situation. Other condition may be your check valve is letting oil into crankcase and it vents out easiest path ot outside- that being your AC.
if you have a bit to much oil in your bike it will come out though the air cleaner... i have heard of guys removing a bit of oil before LONG trips to prevent this
What everyone's saying is true. Your bike holds 3 qts oil dry. 2 1/2 wet.
When any cold bike is started about ateaspoon of water comes out the breathers. As you ride and warm the bike, more water mixed with
oil exits the Ccase through the breathers. Now y are you getting oil on your cam cover, I can only speculate.
1-have you checked to see if the two orings are on the backplate where the plate meets the heads?
2- Is the back plate cracked?
3-are the breathers firmly pushed onto the banjo bolts.
4- make sure oil is at top box on dipstick.
