Default Thunderheader Question

My thunderheaders finally came in today. My brother and I started to wrench to get the thing on there. We got it all on there except I ran into a little problem. DOes anyone know how to mount the transmission bracket onto the exhaust itself or am I just missing something completely? I mean, I'd obviously want to mount the thing onto the frame after I've heard a few stories of badly fastened pipes coming off on the freeways.

http://www.thunderheader.net/parts/html/1179B.html It's this thing.

The manual doesn't say very much about it (or anything for that matter) except to put it on and I don't want to put everything else on there only to find out that I need to stick this on again.

If I had access to my camera right now I'd send you some pictures, but its a fairly straightforward install. The bracket bolts to the side of the transmission, You remove the four bottom bolts from the cover, and replace them with the longer ones supplied. Then bolt the bracket to the muffler end f the pipe and youre basically done. The round clamp goes on the rear pipe before you put them together, and bolts onto the flat horizontal tab (1 hole) toward the front of the bracket. The pic shows My bike with the Bassani pipe that I had on there before, but dont be mislead, the lines point to the mounting bolts for the thunderheader bracket. hope this helps...

Don't you have a camera on your cell phone?

How much do those Thunder heads cost if you don't mind me asking?

I got mine at Gopartsdirect.com. Came 2 weeks after I ordered them which is what they said. I paid 550$ for the black ones for the 06-08 models. Shipping was free.

So if I'm to understand properly - you can remove theThundercones to put that bracket on?

It's the same thing. That's the one I ordered. When I got the invoice, it says 06-08. You can also try calling them to confirm but it's pretty much the same thing. As long as it has the O2 bungs, it should fit.
