Well I tightened the primary chain and that did not fix it..... So into the shop it goes, 2 managers at the counter... One says that's a 2005 no more warranty on it.... I say OK but I thought it had a longer warranty on it then 1 year..... The other manager says hey what's the vin number? I give it to him and he comes back a few mins later and says... It's still under warranty till the 31 of this month.... HAHA fix it I said no matter what it takes....LOL.... They tried tho, I give em that...buttholes!
Anyways he goes out and starts it up and says it's probably the boot on the chain tensioner but it will all be fixed under warranty.... Woot thank god!
I'll keep you guys up to date on what it really ends up being......
Just curious, are you talking about the adjustment shoe on the primary chain adjuster? Did it break or use your chain out of adjustment? If the shoe broke, the chain was probably riding on some pins in there.
May I make another suggestion, why not put in a M6 tensioner. It keeps your chain under the proper tension accelerating and decelerating forces. Got it on both dynas and found it to be worth the money. Just google M6 tensioner and see what you think. If your are mechanically inclined this is a real easy project.
Thats great that they are going to fix it under warrenty, but the bigger picture here is that they did, albiet just the one guy, tried to screw you over. Its a good thing there was one honest guy at the counter or you would have been shelling out your own money.
Naz any word from the dealer. I adjusted my shocks up a notch and the noise didnt go away either. Beginning to thinks its a 2005 dyna super glide special acquired noise we got.
Well I went out a few minutes ago and looked and looked and didnt see anything that appeared to be belt related or gaurd problems. However I looked up into the rear fender and found that the left turn signal wire had come out of a bracket and had been the culprit rubbing against the rear tire. It was chewed all the way through to the point of having the wire exposed and some strands broken. Temporarily I have put some electrical tape on it and put it back in the clamp. There seems to be some excess wire on this side. I am not sure what to do exaclty but there was the issue. So for those that have lowered you may want to take a look.
