Default Lets take a Brake!

I was riden home tonite after work and was coming to a stop
(Slow To Observe for Police) sign. As i was Braking I started to notice I tend to use the rear brake more than the front. So I figured its time for another poll. Which brake does everyone use more and why? Or do u use both at the same time as recommended by our buddies at MSF?

I use the front brake more, as I was taught by my instructors at Team Oregon. It seems more natural for me as well. I have a faster reaction time with my hand than I do with my foot, especially since I use the highway pegs most of the time.

Ride Safe.

I normally use both brakes but there are time where I just use my front for some reason. I guess it just depends on how fast I'm moven along.

I use both most of the time. I used to ride a Ducati Monster and it seems this thing wont stop on just one brake lol!!

Most of the time both. But the hand brake usually first then the foot.

Mostly use my front, especially if leisurely braking. I think I developed that way 'cuz the rear [drum] brake on the Vulcan was so weak. Can anyone tell me why EVERY shaftie I've ever owned or seen uses DRUM rears?

I know I will get burnt for this but it's simple. The more you use your front brake the better rider you will be, conversely the more you depend on your rear brake the worse rider you will be. An easy way to look at it is to look at race bikes either on or off road. In both cases front brakes are always bigger and way more powerful because that's the way they are ridden. The rear brake is only there to keep them stable. There is a fair bit more to it than that but to be a better rider you need to learn to use your front brake properly.
