Well, as some of you read, I got my bike dynoe'd and tuned this morning. It took him about 40 minutes in the morning, and when I went to take it for a ride, it was backfiring like whoa! Completely unnacceptable. I took it back, he tried again and same thing. Finally after the 3rd try, he got it right. Bike runs nice and he extended the rev limiter.
Here are my numbers: went from 64.13 HP to 66.66 HP
68.84 Torque to 70.04 Torque
This is on an 06 Dyna streetbob with 88 ci. motor, V&H Big Radius pipes, Arlen Ness Big sucker stage 1, and PCIII.
Do those numbers sound OK or what? I was very upset about having to take it back to him 3 different times, but it's good now.
That sounds a little low on the numbers to me but I could be wrong. My old 883 Sporty with the basic 1250 conversion (pistons and cylinders replaced)was pulling 65hp and 70 tq. I figured the torque would be higher at least on yours.
I can tell you my 2001 FXD put out 69hp and 77tq. I am running AN Big Sucker, Yost Power Tube (I have a carb) and Cycle Shack slip-ons.
Every bike is slightly different, so if it is running good with no backfiring all is good.
With a TFI, K&N and drilled out pipes, I got 74HP/78TQ back in 06 on the Dyno. He didn't tune, I did by feel, sound and reading my plugs.
To note: every dyno is different andnumbers can vary greatly. I am curious as to why a tuner would ever give a customer back a bike that popped a little, let alone backfired.
It runs pretty well now. Love that rev limiter extender. My RPM range has completely changed. Its awesome! But I did think that numbers did sound a bit low. And, I will rarely get a bit of backfiring, but thats only if I really try to get it to pop. Do you think I should take it back to him again and have him redo it, or what? I'm not entirely pleased with how it went down today but it seems to be running alright now. Should the backfiring be completely non-existent at this point or what?

You may find that you will have to go back a few times until he finds your sweet spot. Also it may start pooping more the hotter the bike gets. Be prepared to go back again.Kind of goes w/ these RT's. The numbers do seem a little low for the mods you've made.I've seen where different pipes on the same bike will move numbers around too. Some pipes look great but are robbing the bike of HP or Torque. You'll get there just don't settle for "good enough". Just my 2 cents and that's about all it's worth! Nice ride too.
