Default ISO Grips - Slippy??

Hi,
I've just added a set of Kuryakin ISO grips to my WG!

Anyways, yesterday I thought I'd give the grips a road test

They seemed to virtually remove the usual vibes - so much so, that I didn't get the dreaded hand numbness at all!!

Then..................it started to rain, well pi** down really, and my hands kept sliding off the grips!
In the end, I was gripping so tight, it caused a pain across the top of my wrist.
Maybe it's because I have Buckhorn bars (hands facing downwards etc.)??

I know alot on here have these grips and are happy with them (so am I from a vibe and comfort point of veiw) but wondered if anybody has had the same issues?

I'm just on th edge of ordring the footpegs to match, but if these are as slippy, I'm not so sure

I've put my apes back on today, not just because of the grips! I've had the buckhorns on for two years now and I've been looking at the forum recently and damn the apes look good on a WG's so maybe it will also cure the sliding off stuff??

Any help or advice would be welcome - before I order the pegs

Thanks,

Ian.

the grips will get better as they get older (see also: more sap, ect build up). I had the same problem when I first got mine. as for the pegs... they are still slick in the rain after six months. I am considering changing them for this reason. Also another item to look out for- the left grip has a tendency to slip off at high speeds (at least mine anyways)

+1 on the grips gettingbetter over time. I'm not sure ifthis is on account of normal wear and tear or if you hands just get progressively used to them. As for the pegs, they did and continue to slip, even after about a year or so. But again, you learn to deal with that too.

Good luck.

Maybe treating the grips with rosin like you use in baseball would give them some tack in the rain. I am thinking of getting these grips as well, already have the pegs but don't think I have ridden them in heavy rain yet to see how slippery they are.

I've had the pegs on both front (forward controls) and passenger for a couple years now, no probs in the rain.

I'm finally putting the grips on today....if I can muster the courage to slide the left one on in one smooth move. Replacing the throttle grip was no problem at all.

I have the same grips and pegs on my WG,though I now have drag bars. Grips do get better, pegs don't. I recently changed them out for the switchblades, much better.

I got both the grips and pegs and have rode in the rain and snow with them both and haven't had any problems. Then again now that I think about it I guess the pegs were slippy with my old boots so maybe thats the difference???

Do you wear gloves or ride bare-handed? I ride with gloves and have never had a problem with my Iso-grips.
