here's a pic the braking/suspension system i DID go with- installing it now
if the lyndall rotors were that much better i would of bought them, obviously.
i've spent a lot of time researching all the options, including tokico 6 pots, which are top of the line imo, i just didn't want to fabricate anything or have any extra brackets, the brembos bolt directly and are proven as well.
u know, our convo a few months ago where u accidently mention to me you where going to sell me a used front end as new for $2000+. I do not sell used front ends as new. I did not accidentally say that. As far as Lyndall and weightless goes, I do not care which you bought. I do know what happened to a pressed casting.
oh and the ONLY difference between the lyndall friction rings and the w8less is that lyndall's are centrifugally cast while the w8less are pressed- same material and each casting has it's own benefits and deficits.
You are correct on centrifugally cast while the w8less are pressed.
pics of the work so far.....still waiting for the bike to return so I can start on mounting them. Also ran out of brake cleaner so wil have to wait till I can get some more before giving them a shot of black paint and installing the new stainless steel bolts to replace the old ones that hold the claipers together.
Also this is somethingI knocked up for the wifes `98 sporty based chop using a 04 dyna front wheel and a polished 4 pot caliper and front disc I had lying around from My old night train when I instaled a billet 6 pot and floating disc on it. http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...ake%20Upgrade/
I put lyndal gold pads on and it is like a whole new brake system! VERY impressed! since i put mine on, i have put them on my girls, dads, uncles, brother, best friends, and brothers buddys bike... they are that good!
Absolutely right Joe! I just installed front and rear sets on my V-rod the other day an there is a very noticeable difference. This will be one the first mods I do when I get my Dyna. There is a huge reduction in all that black brake dust on the wheels also.
On my 04 FXDWGi, I installed the braided lines, fork brace (to stiffen things up), floating rotors and the Lyndo pads. Used stock calipers and whole thing works so much better it is amazing.
Brake lever VERY firm with absolutely NO SQUISH. No more squeek, squeek, squeek at low speed from rotors being slightly out of true or "pulsing" in lever / pedal.
Wanted to go with new calipers, but a grand forthem seemed abit steep. Glad I didn't since the changes I did make were so dramatic.Braking very smooth and strong.
Brakesat apoint now where I must be super careful when braking hard so as not to lose it.
