Fat Bob Squadron: Mid-Controls or Forward Controls? Happy?
Dyna Glide ModelsSuper Glide, Super Glide Sport, Super Glide Custom, Dyna Glide Convertible, Super Glide T-Sport, Dyna Glide Police, Dyna Switchback, Low Rider, Street Bob, Fat Bob and Wide Glide.
5'11" and 215 lbs. I have forward controls and like them alot...except for when I see a sizable bump comming and I get frustrated because I can't stand up. My spine has to take the bump...

Forward Controls or Mids
Do not ride a Fatbob ,but Streetbob .Have my bike 2 years in Sept ,have rode about 20,000 miles with mids and just went with forward controls about 2,,500 miles ago .OH MAN what a DIFFERENCE IT MAKES !!!!!.It takes all the STRESS off of my back and knees.I will not buy another bike without forward controls
I'm 6 foot 1 and 250 lbs. Without a doubt Mids felt best to me. Tried both. I specifically bought the 2009 because Mids weren’t available on the 2010 Bob. The forwards on the road king were fine but on the Fat Bob I feel I am riding a Toboggan sled getting ready to give birth. With the mids I am controlling a motorcycle with the ability to command the bike in aggressive riding. I know some folks think the Harley look is a rider in stirrups but to each his own.
Forwards, it has to be. I love the way you commit on a turn, you either get it right or you get it right. At higher speed, even better. I would not go with mids, period.
Floor board mid control is that happy medium unless you are VERY, very tall. If I stick my feet straight out, I can lock my knees while resting my heels on the very front of my boards. That's far enough. And you can shift your feet back over rough roads to save your lower back some impact.
This is my first HD. I rode ricers with rear sets and clubman or drag bars prior to that. Never thought I would like forwards, but I liked these right from the get go. No real issues for the past two years except on long rides, but every long ride beats me up a little at my age.
I'm 5'10" and 250 with a 30" inseam. Just got my Fat Bob today, and they came with fwd. Being a sportbike rider and this being my first HD, I would of chose mids if I bought new. The forwards are just right, but mids feel much better. Anyone have a link as to where I can just get mid brackets/pegs?
