Mids for me; had to replace the inner and outer primary covers to get them fitted as you can only get the bike here with fwds as standard.

I think they did away with mids for the Fat Bobs. Maybe others were having issues with the brake pedal hitting the heat shield?

I've got the forwards. This is my first forward control bike ever (and first Harley) and I wasn't sure I was going to like it but I do.

I'm 6'0 180.

My Fat Bob started with forwards and I converted them to mids. Had to get inner and out primary covers, the mid control foot parts (brake, shifter, footpeg mounts, linkage rods, etc.), and nuts, bolts and gaskets. Costs around $1000 if you buy the parts straight from H-D, but I spent around $300 finding these parts on eBay.

I feel in better control with the mids, as I barely had any knee bend with riding with the forwards. The placement of the forwards on the Sportster was probably the ideal position for me.

5'7" 180#, 30" inseam.

I have a question. How did you go about finding out what you needed? Did you get a quote from a dealer then use the parts list? I really need to go got mids My back is taking a beating.

Tried both when I purchased, strongly preferred mids. Since then have never doubted I made the right decision for me. 5'10" 200lbs.

I have forwards...but as I am 5"6 I had a guy make some powder coated brackets for me. They brought the pegs back and up a couple of inches....what a difference and you can't tell the brackets are there. $200 for the brackets.

Yes; I actually went to the H-D dealer shop and asked them what would be needed to convert the foot controls to midmount.

When the shop manager gave me the list with part numbers and prices, he actually recommended to me to try to get as many of the parts as possible from eBay or some other H-D parts dealers (Chicago Harley, etc.).
