Thanks for the pic. I like that shield..it's not too 'in your face'. Let me ask you..when you remove it, what is left behind? Any hardware, or is it completely clean?
Thanks again man.
Just the HD docking station. 4 little mounts, consisting of round rubber mounts. I like the system compared to others I have seen. Not really that noticeable...
It does a good job, the only thing is, you get a little wind coming up from the bottom but it keeps the heavy wind off of you. I use it mainly for riding to and from work. Sometimes I have it on to ride to work in the AM but if it is real nice for the ride home, I take it off and leave it at work. Only problem with that is I don't have it for the next morning ride in or have my base decal which is on the windshield!
Works very well, look over it. I am 6'4", though. All that being said, my Lepera seat drops me & I still have no problem with the height.
For prolonged highway driving, it is essential. For around town, bar hopping, etc. I remove it. I don't really like the look. Wide Glides look best without a shield
im looking into a wind. too im hopeing it willhelp me with my neck on long rides theres a mucel in my neck that nots up realy bad, if i whear a helment its even worse. dose anybody have a sim. problum and do you think a wind will help
I finally did it. I tried the quick release low profile and the quick release standard height windshields. I'm 6ft and ride an 01 wide glide. I ended up going with the standard height. The low profile kept the wind off my chest but put it right in my face. I thought it looked a little silly too. The standard put it right on the top of my head. IMO it didn't look as silly as the low profile. If I sit up straight I can see over the top. If I sit low in the seat, I can look through it. It is pricey ($429 with tax) but it seems to do the trick. It leaves absolutely nothing behind. I was happy to have the chance to test drive the shields before purchasing. Thanks Andrae's in Urbana, IL. I'll post pics later. My butt is too tired to get out there and take pictures right now. Bottom line - It probably won't look good on a wide glide but some look and work better than others.
I have the standard height (with black power coated trims) on my Street Bob. A little buffeting from 60 miles up but very good protection. Like it.
Teppo
i've got the standard height detachable on my superglide. It's not too high, and you can slide it up or down about an inch and a half between the braces of the triple tree.
I really don't think they detract from the look of the bike, and they make highway riding way better.
