Tedh, Ihave a small set of tools in my tool bag. They are mostly 3/8, 7/16, and 1/2" and a set of alllen wrenches. You can also you can get a set of torx wrenches similar to allens.

Get the tool kit that comes with the touring models. I've used mine several times (helping others out) and it always seems to have the correct size wrench, screwdriver, or torx tool that I'm looking for. Put on the new XGlide plate this evening and again it had just what I needed. Thank goodness for saddle bags, I wouldn't leave home without it.
