Default Fat Bob, alternate foot position

I am getting the forward controls (only 5'9", but mids are way to cramped for everyday riding) on my Fat Bob and was wondering about options for different positions for longer rides. I'm not ready for crash bars yet so I'm looking for options that do not include a crash bar. I'm having the dealer get me set-up to just use the mid control holes to add footpegs and use the mid area as an alternate riding position (assuming my pipes will alow it). Anyone else have some ideas and possibly even some pics? thanks.

For long hauls, if you don't have a passenger on board, youcan put your feet back on the rear pegs and get rid of the leg cramps, and give the back some relief.
Just don't let the other Harley riders see ya

I've thought about this. But never remember when on a road long enough to try it out.

I can't do this. Legs are too damn long! I have thought about doing the mid pegs just for a change of position but I'm usually comfortable enough with my feet on the forwards.

Definitely get the forwards, they made a huge difference on my FXDBI. As far as using the passenger pegs to stretch, you'll get some odd looks from other riders but it works. It can also help with stretching out your back on longer rides.

But I do that all the time, damn if anyone else sees me, but it does help with relaxing the legs. I also just hang'em off the end of the pegs to stretch them out and I'm also 5'9".

I will have to see how that works out on the FB. No such luck on the old VTX 1300 (more likely to eat the pavement than find the back pegs and get situated, the were a little high).

What about a different seat - might help with the mid-pegs cramp...

My bike was on the floor at the dealership with forwards. I had them swap the controls with a street bob then added hwy pegs. There was the question floating around about whatwas better for riding in town a sportster or dyna, well I belive they are equil as long as they have mids. I think I have a much better feel for the bike with my feet under me, and I can strech em out on longer hauls with the hwy pegs.
