you just need them when you are drifting around the corner... 
for normal people they invented the head and tail lights....
so get rid of those japenese looking **** on your real bike!!!!!!!!!!!![:'(]

I just pulled the ones on my forks after reading the first few posts. Took 15 minutes, about 5 feet of 10lb Trilene, couple splashes of mineral spirits on a rag and GONE. Looks MUCH better.

As seen here, I removed mine from the lowers, when switched to chrome, and used the tape
type on the fender struts. Actually throw more light than factory reflectors and really don't
seem em in the sunlight / day time

I took them off last week when I was home. I do like the looks of the bike without them!
