Default DOT 5 and powdercoat

Anyone know how Dot 5 brake fluid and powder coat get along? I changed the front brake line and managed, despite my best effort, to get it all over the front of the frame and some on the engine. All of it in hard to reach places. Wiped it up the best I could of course but I can't actually wash/hose it off until sometime tommorrow afternoon and was wondering if anyone would know if there will be any paint left by then. I heard dot 5 is not as hard on paint as the others and hope it's true. Also having a hell of a time bleeding, but thats another thread.

Dont know about the Powder coat issue.
Bleeding the front brake is easy with a syring and hose attached to the front bleeder, fill the reservoir & pull the fluid thru from the caliper bleeder with a syringe.

You won't have anything to worry about with DOT 5 on your powder coat. DOT 3 is another story! That stuff is bad news.

Powdercoat is pretty impervious to most fluids. My frame is pcoated and has survived DOT5, fuel and batt acid with no harmfull effects. Fuel will stain it, but it polishes out fine. Hose it down, wash with soap to remove the Brake fluid. It should be fine.

Dot 5 is silicon brake fluid and is safe on most surfaces.Harley has now gone back to Dot 4 which is the harmful one to most paint.
