Default How Loud?

How loud are the cycle shack slip ons. Are they as loud as a bike with no baffles. I do apologize for the annoyance of another exhaust based question. I like the CS slip ons turn out style, but I have to leave for work at 4:30 am. Would I be better off going with the SE2 slipons? I am going to install big sucker ac kit so I need better than stock exhaust. I want the Harley sound, but I do not want to get the neighbors upset at 430 am. Appreciate any advice given. Hope everyone is having a great day at work or play. Ya'll stay safe.

The Cycle Shacks are considerable louder then the SE. I happen to like them.

The SE's do have a deeper tone, and if you don't want to **** off the neighbors at 0430, then you would probably be happier with the SE.

Loud is a relative term, but you'll know loud when the neighbors complain. That being said, the V&H Big Shots on my FXD are pretty loud when running wide open, but I find that if I keep the revs down in the early a.m., they're no worse than so-called quieter pipes. The CS slip-ons with the stock headpipes can be a real great exhaust with a Stage I upgrade and they're pretty inexpensive. I'd try them out and see how they are. You could try them on an afternoon, weekend, whatever when prople aren't sleeping, keeping the throttle down to a minimum, have the person stand outside and see how loud the pipes seem. Too quiet sometimes = too restrictive. Your choice.

My SE2's can set off a car alarm when easing through my neighborhood at 25MPH in 3rd, and I still have the stock A/C.

I would have to say the Cycle Shacks are loud, but the SEII are not loud enough. If you are worried about the noise, but want a Harley sound, get the Cycle Shacks, and be very quiet starting the bike(like in the garage), and idle it out of the neighborhood. Heck, most of the pickups with duals are loud now, and they don't care. I let my neighbor listen to my Big Radius for about 5 minutes at 5:30 am, with them pointed at his bedroom, because he has 2 dogs, and lets them out at 6:00 am, barking their heads off until he lets them back in. Dogs? Barking? Not anymore...

I appreciate all of the replies. Thorns, was your neighbor ticked off. Here is the deal. I have already had one neighbor make a comment or two about how he can hear my stock bike at 430 am. I was trying to be a responsible neighbor but it seems to me that they are going to complain no matter what I do.. So I am going to buy what I want, and they can deal with it. Ride Safe.

Yeah mine are the same way. Screw em! I don't ride to please them. Also the same neighbor who complains is also the one who has a son that runs up and down the street wide open in his civic w/fartcan mufflers(yeah 2 of them) at all hours of the night!

LOL you guys crack me up with the noise thing. I got sick of hearing this guys bassin car system so everytime I pass his "ride" in the parking lot I pull in the clutch and twist the throttle and set off his car alarm. LOL brings a wide grin on my face every time.
