I say send it back.
You paid good money($1000) for a good part.
I don't consider that bent bracket POS to be a good part.
As for the decals, well that's simply a matter of opinion..........
Everybody, Thank You for your support. I know the decal position is a personal preference, but I prefer that it is identical to my original factory tank (1 of 233), and just like the photosof theother bikes that I posted above, theyall have the decalpositioned like my original tank.
Kind of an optical illusion but when the decalis parallel with the bottom of the tankit makes the tank look fatter, and looks more streamlinedwhen it is correctly centeredin the black portion of the tank.
I sent the tank back this past Friday after I posted here and responded back to the dealer with a link to this post. They responded and said what I would haveexpected from their first response. But as I was told, their first response was based on the response they received from Harley Davidson.
"Go ahead and box it up in the original box that we sent. We will email you a call tag for the tank. Once we receive it we will credit you in full your purchase price plus your shipping."
So now I need to call Harley and see if I can get a tank like my original, and packed well enough so I won't end up in the same situation.
