HD makes a "wide tire kit" for dyna's that includes a Screamin Eagle Dunlop 180. Whether or not you need the entire contents of the "kit" to run the 180 remains debatable but most dealers will not install the tire on a dyna without the kit. I plan to get the tire and a tube and take it to an indy shop to be installed. The purpose of the kit is to protect the wiring under your fender from the larger tire. If you are comfortable that your wiring is not an issue, you really shouldn't need the kit, just the tire and tube. I've also seen where other people have put other brand 180's on the stock rim but the Dunlop 180 is the only 1 I know of that is designed to run on that size rim.
180... as said above need a diff rim to run a 200 safely.... DO NOT NEED A WIDE TIRE KIT!!! just make sure your turn sig wires are out of the way... i got it on my bike... LOVE IT... go with the metzler or avon... the SE dunlop does not last for CRAP!!!

So if I get custom rims, the Dyna can accomodate up to a 200 tire without any mods to swingarm or fender??
You can run a 200 on a 18x5.5 wheel. You've gotta be careful on tire selection though because some manufacturer's are wider than others. A metzeler 200 will fit fine. A lot depends on how much money you want to spend. Keep in mind, that the 180 is only 20mm narrower than the 200. So, do you want to spend the extra cash on 20mm? Some do, some don't.
Saint
whats the stock tire on an 07 street bob? i thought it was a 180?i thought one of the things they did from the 06 to the 07 street bob
models was increase the tire size,
nope 160... unless i stand corrected... awesome advice Saint... thank you... i am going with a Metzler next just cause it is WAY better of a tire than the SE... good to know... glad you joined up on here!
So what size rim (width) are the chrome spoked option wheels? I was pretty sure my 07 Superglide Custom has a 180 tire...need to have the wife check it out. I had been considering doing a wide tire conv and going with up to a 240, but they want way too much for the kits. So lately I had been wondering what the widest would fit without it. If a 200 works that would be great!!
