I got the green light... Ready to buy a Street Bob!
I got the green light to buy a new bike. I am going after a Street Bob. I will be paying cash for it so i am hoping some of the dealers will lower the price because of this. Anyone know if this is an advantage? I figure it will take me about a week or 2 to find the best deal for me around my area (SoCal/Los Angeles). I have started making my list of add ons i would like on the bike. Man really excited about this. I will be getting rid of my Sporty. Decided to put it on Craigslist and then will post some pics at the local bike spots.

Sit on as many bikes as you can & really feel them out before committing to buying one. I rode my buddy's Street Bob before & the bike feelsextremelysmall to someone who's 6' or over.

Dealers make more money if they can get you to finance the bike. So getting them to lower their price is iffy.
Go in, drop a large down-payment on it. Get them to lower their price some, throw in some goodies, and finance the rest of it and any accessories you want. Then in two months, pay off the note.
RE: I got the green light... Ready to buy a Street Bob!
Good advice.. Tomorrow I am heading out to a couple other shops to see what i can find. I am now looking at several models... Being that is may be the last bike I buy for a long while. (Said the same thing about the Sporty) Right now it is the Street Bob, Street Glide and Cross Bones... Black of course!!! I have sat on the Bob and the Glide and like them both... The glide's seatwas a bit wider... The Bob felt just right. I am 5'8... I dig the hard cases of the Glide, i dig the blacked out engine of the Bob (more black than both Crossbones and Glide) and I really dig the springer of the Bones...
The glide i saw today already had all of the extras minus the SE AC and exhaust that I wouldput on that model. Black front end and chrome accents. Just look awesome. Came with ABS, Security and more. Ready for 2 up!$23k + tax
The Bob i saw today was just as nice. Instead of mini apes it had flat track bars (black) and chrome front end. It is denim black and had the SE performance air cleaner.. the one the comes out then points forward... I dig that... They were asking $17k + Taxes... I was quoted 15K for a stock denim. Single rider would have to buy 2UP parts...
They didn't have a Cross bones, but i would suspect it is probably in the middle of these two. And because it is a new model, there is probably a dealer markup! Would have to buy the 2up parts.
Bastards!

Sounds like your ready to get whatever you want! Thats a great place to be in. Hard to help you because I have an 08 Street Bob but I love the street glide! That would be my second bike if I could. Oh please god dont let them make a black denim glide.

ORIGINAL: OSP1340
Buy mine!!!! J/K
I know of a few dealers who still have 07's left that are looking to "dump" them.
Start checking all the loacls and see what you come up with.
Definitely check around for an '07 -- the '08 St Bobs have the risers integrated in the triple tree and can't be changed w/o changing top triple tree clamp - a really stupid idea on the moco's part IMO. Leftover '07s are going CHEAP! Or even a low mileage used '07 w/remaining warranty can be great deal if you can find one in the color you like.
