There isa limit. I mean, if you KNOW your limit, you will probably be okay... I know now that I can only drink a 1/2 pint of JD before I start to get 'icky'. And 3 beers suit me just fine. This is in general, minus riding.
But everyone's different. And I know my limit when it comes to riding, too. I know that consuming 3 beers on a hot sunny day while riding around isn't going to do anything to me. And it always comes with food, you know. It relaxes me -as it should and as it's meant to- enough so that I'm not hyper-vigilant (which can be a dangerous thing). I mean, I know guys who've gone down just because they were so 'nervous'.
It's about being responsible all around ...for yourself and for others. If you can't appreciate that then you shouldn't ride and even have so much as a sip of anything.

I joke about it but that's why you can't drink & ride a motorcycle.
That's a downer of a story, the way it started out I was hoping for a cool 3-some story or something.

I dont touch a beer at all while I,m riding .
Espessialy if I have a passenger .
Always ends up as just one more abought 6 beers or so deep , them Your head swells up and out comes your chest .And all of the sudden your SUPER BIKER .
And nothing seams to bother you until it happens ..
Everyones bean there , young dump and full of Alchohal .
Hope everything works out for your friends and they learned a very hard LESSION .
Ride all you can but dont DRINK AND DRIVE.....

Sorry to hear about this young couple. Drinking & riding a motorcycle is NOT a forgiving hobby. But I must admit that at that age bracket I was into all that macho $hit and would go get hammered and go riding home at warp speed. My guardian angel must really like me because I really should be dead from all the nonsense I pulled as a young man. Today, I don't drink at all as I quit last year.
But for all you guys who say getting a little "buzz" is not drunk....you are kidding yourselves. 2 beers and you are impaired and don't belong on the road PERIOD. Your reaction time and judgement is altered...maybe only slightly...or maybe you just think only slightly. But there is literally volumes of data out there that prove that it is true. One reason all the DUI laws have changed so much in the past 10-15 years.
If you want to drink...let someone else drive....
