A few changes...(pics)
Thanks for the compliments, guys.
I'm sorry, did you say something? As usual, I was distracted by your avatar.[sm=tongue.gif]The word on the floorboards is that the complete kits are obsolete, so you have to either buy the parts individually or buy the controls used (pricey either way). Plus, they won't bolt onto '06 and newer Dynas without mods. There are a couple of posters here that have made brackets to fit either these or softail boards to the new bikes. Try searching for board threads- there have been somedetailed ones recently. BTW, the boards together with the highway pegs make for as good a riding position as you could ever ask for(with lots of foot position options).

ORIGINAL: Dawg Rider
After seeing Vampire's black engine guard, I decided to paint mine (and use black allen head bolts) to hide it a bit. Iwon't get rid of it because I like the highway pegstoo much, but I wanted it to stand out less. I added a chrome upper belt guard to even it out front to back some, too.I also painted mysaddlebag supports from the bottom of the strut covers down along with my homemade 1.5" tank lift (easiest yet-soon to be described in the under $50 thread). I'm gonna have to redo the bag supports as the paint wore off in a couple of high contact spots, but the semi-flat black color hides them well. My bike ispretty bagger-like much of the time, but I wanted it to look a little leaner when naked (that goes for bikes and wives, I guess
).

Nice job Jimmy.
The machine is looking really good.
Clean and lean.

I am just about finished installing this floorboard kit on my 07 Street Bob. Only a bit of paint necessary.
The board mounting brackets andboards themselves bolted right up, including thebrake pedal. The part that does not mount up is the heel/toe shifter spline bracket. I modfied a bit and bolted this to the forward board bracket and fabricated an extra support brace. It works just fine and looks like it belongs there.
If you do not like the heel/toe shift, you can also use an extended length shift lever, run this from the mid mount spline, and not have to worry about using ormodifing the bracket at all. I bought one of these in case I find I do not like heel/toe.
What you would need to know is if the forward and rear peg mount holes are spaced the same on your frame as on mine. And need to make sure the rear bracket on the exhaust side clears the pipe. That bracket is a non-closed "P" and curves over the top of the pipe.
I have the parts lists available. Don't have pics yet, but I can get some if you are interested. Let me know if you have any questions.
Agree with Dawg. Very comfortable riding position. I added 1" floorboard extension kit and made it even better. Also agree that it was very difficult to focus onwriting thispost after seeing your avatar.

If you have time, you should start a new thread describing your board project (with pictures, parts list, and cost if possible)as I can assure you there are plenty that are interested. Hardly a week goes by that I don't get a PM or email asking about the boards, and most of them are from riders of the '06 and newer bikes. BTW-did you buy all the parts new?
Not sure if this helps with the front floorboard questions, but here is what a few of us have used. No real explanation on how or what parts, it is all in a kit. Not all the pieces need to be used, but they do work and work great.
