Seems like if you just put on the WG trees on and some 11" shocks to lower the rear you could get away with the stock tubes? Anyone done this? Obviously you need to address the hub/rotor, but going with a 21" wideglide wheel would solve that issue am I wrong in that assumption?

You are right, but 12" shocks work just as well. Below photo's have Wide Glide triple trees and a 21" Wide Glidewheel withmy original forks.
I think you would need stock WG tubes, or maybe thats what you meant? The WG tubes are larger in diameter(41mm as opposed to 39mm)than the other Dynas if I'm not mistaken.

'06-'08 WG's have 49mm tubes. No need to changeyour tubes. If you do the tree's, you will love the result. I love the way mine looks and rides!
Gotta say WS6 I have seen your bike on her a couple times and it is soooo clean. Looks good. I have the same upgrade wheels on my superglide and was hoping to find a matching 21" where did you end up getting yours?

cramil,
I foundthe profile wheel, tire, and disc assembly on eBay. It was a new take off with ninety five miles on it. I looked for a couple of months before finding a complete assembly. I thought it would have the same hub width as the Mid Glide, but it was too wide, so I then installed the Wide Glide triple clamps.
