Doesn't sound like the dreaded IPB.......... You'll KNOW it if that goes bad, there'll be no "whirling" about it....... grrrrrrrrind, metal to metal. GROWLS alot. And your riding buds will be asking you what that terrible growling sound is, when you are sitting at a traffic light in nuetral, with them sitting beside you.
I am thinking you are experiencing a transplanetary demodulation extravehicular idiocentric deflibulation phenomena. This is generally associated with a chin strap pulled just a little too tight, especially when wearing a 1/2 lid. A rectal examination may possible help.
A proctal mecodomist may be your best relief, especially if you are experiencing ringing in your ears.[8D]

Good to know but I just had a colonoscopy last Monday. Everything was fine... I'll stop worrying.
drives me nuts! Whirling, rattling, vibrating, noisy,... But hey today i heard a guys bike that was even worse. It was like, "W-a-a-a-a! Wing-ing! Wing! Wing! Wa-a-a-a!" How would you like to be worried about that?
Top like Splatter and Doug said slight whirring noise is normal you got plenty of time on your warranty if it seems to get louder take it in
The IPB you refer to was a problem in 2006 your bike should have the new style bearing. Ride on and stay safe
Topspin:
I hate to give you the bad news, but it does sound like the IPB. The whirling sound is just how I discribed it to the shop. If it stops as soon as you put it in gear, you have the problem. It started out with a slight noise and got progressively louder. I had it happen twice in less than a year. I have an 06 Super Glide. The second time the dealer replaced the bearing and cases. It was covered, and the replacedparts took up 2 pages on the work order. Glad I did not have to pay that bill.I have not had anymore problems and close to 5,000 miles on the bike since the repairs. Good luck!!
