I used to ride with my wife as a passenger 99% of the time. A couple years ago, she passed her motorcycle licence. She don't want to be a passenger anymore. Last year, we bought 2 StreetBob with solo seats. So we ride in duo as two solo
You are one lucky S.O.B....... We do quite a bit of two up, I don't so much mind riding with other couple, I just hate two people on a one person bike... But, at the same time , when she is not on the back I ride like I grew up on a steady diet of paintchips and qualudes !!!!

when my street bob is paid in another couple years and I buy the street glide, I probably won't hate it quite as much...

Bless her heart, I cant get rid of her! Nor would want too. She always wants to go, and only once (after a 300 mile ride) said "more padding would be nice"![:@]
I like going 2up, but I LOVE flying solo

Say Gaffy, how's the solo rack for carrying a bit of gear? I've got a passenger pillion, backrest, and luggage rack, but only occasionally have a passenger (wife, daughter, someone else's wife, someone else's daughter, etc., etc. ) The sissy bar and backrest work well for carrying my stuff for the commute to work, but it's overkill for that 99 percent of the time that no one's sitting there. Checking out your bike has got me thinking of some different possibilities...

I enjoy riding most when my wife is along. It's great to have a hobby we both enjoy in common. I love tearin' it up with just the boys too, don't get me wrong -- and she never gives me any lip for doing it. But being gone in a nice 8 hour ride with the lady, going places we wouldn't normally go due to the "drive"... those are good times for us.

I rode two up with both of my ex husbands. I figured this time around I'd change it up and get my own so that this marriage would work. So far so good. But if this one doesn't work then me and my hog are hitting the road and not looking back! Seriously though, I love riding side by side with my husband. He's the only one I'll split a lane with as we ride together so well. I'm too much of a control freak to ride two up anymore and I like being able to take off on my bike for a solo run anytime I want. He does the same when he needs to get away. It's alll good!

No wife and no gf so I ride solo. Also have 5 grandkids under7 and figure with a solo seat they won't be asking for rides. Maybe when they get older.

Ride Safe.

Wife loves to ride but she has back problems and can only do about 100-120 in a day, max. We go for short trips al lthe time and she loves it. Anything longer, like 200-400, I ride solo..

The solo rack's so far seems just fine for what I need - but there's a weight limitbut I forget what that it is. I mainly use it to carry around stuff in a fender / fork roll bag like a disc lock, a neck roll, jiffy stand thingy and spare glasses just in case I get caught out at night. On longer runs I have a leather roll bag that I use to put warmer clothing in and spare gloves etc. A good selection of different size bungy cords it essential. I haven't used it to carry really heavy stuff like laptop bags and stuff as I have a rucksack for that stuff if I use the bike to commute to work.
