Oil cooler question for 07 and later?
Hello, I hope the members with oil coolers on their bikes can answer this queston for me. I recently installed the harley premium oilcooler on my 07super glide, but the directions do not say how much more oil to add. All the directions say is that after installation, add oil to bring it up to thefull markon the dipstick. They do not give advice on how much to add, pint, quart, nothing, just to add oil until it shows full on the dipstick. So my question is, if an oil cooler increases the capacity ofoil, wouldn't your engine oilshow above the full mark on the dipstick?I'm abit confused.Please help explain. Thanks

No, Because you have increased the volume of the oil system, with out increasing the volume of the oil - you will show less on the dipstick - after installation. Start the motor let the existing oil circulate to fill the cooler and get the air out, then top it up to the full mark. Take it for a run, then check it once more
