Wind deflectors for Dyna?
Rich,
Isketched them freehand using the same basic shape as the original deflectors, and cut them out with a sabre saw. The final dimensions are about 6" wide at the top and 5.5 inches wide where they start to curve at the bottom. Total height is about 11". I bought a piece of 1/4" clear scrap plastic at a local shop. I think I paid about $2. After I cut them out, I softened the plastic in the oven and curved them slightly. You have to make sure both of them are cut identical, or you may have some problems with aerodynamics.

I made a set for my FXDC and they are definitely an improvement. I have not yet bent them, but tried them outstill being flat.
I'm looking for a little more detail on the bend procedure. How hot and how long did you bake them? Did you use a form to bend them over?
Thanks.

Good job, looks good and practical! I assume they work fairly well.

Rich - I heated them in my kitchen oven, but I don'tremember exactly what the setting was. Start out very low and then slowly increase until they just barely bend. If they get too warm, they will be like a pancake, and you'll never get them back to the original shape. I experimented first with a piece of scrap. I used an old windshield as a form for bending.
