I have to agree with the others, lose the bags, windshield and plug wires.
Nice looking ride. You getting a good deal on it?
As I stated earlier, no question I would ditch all those items. That's a given, I just though that the old t-sport, as well as this last version of the "Sport" (discontinued after 2005), came with a fairing on the front end which housed the short windshield. I guess if I go to see the bike in person, I'll ask the seller. You guys have been very helpful about waht to look out for. Yes, these sport models have a full range of adjustable suspensions, which they are noted for.
The buyer e-mailed me back, he has the original black wires, not a problem. He claimed in the e-mail the yellow ones were suposed to be the best, whatever, I guess. I'll make him plug in the black ones in front of me and run the bike. It has 700+ miles and he's asking $10.5k negotiable.
Get rid of that bag on the fork. If it has not yet, it is so low it'll rub the paint off your front fender.
You may want to look at a turn signal relocation to the forks too.
That's a good looking bike, and will look better after you strip it. That windvest would be good for keeping bugs out of your goatee, but not much else. Is that a heel-toe shifter or a heel rest on the left side? I like that paint scheme. Ask about (or check) the paint under that seat, between the front and rear seat bolts. Those throw-overs could have done some havoc under there. Could be an issue if you want to mount a solo (stock FXDB) seat on it, but could be covered with a fender brow as well. Kelly Blue Book value is 11,800 for that year FXDX, and their expected mileage is around 20,000 for a 3 year old bike that size. If you plug your zip in you can get a better idea: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/Motorcycles/D...69468079595300
Good luck, and welcome.
