110, worth it?
is the SC 110 kit worth it? I am getting ready to price out my street bob, and I talked my better half into considering us getting the 100 kit (by explaining that is like having a bigger diamond ring, all the girls go oo, ahh at the ring, guys go, ooo, ahh at a big motor) but is it really worth the extra money?
If your going to add a kit to a 96" , your better off adding the 103 kit from what i hear. With the extra money of the 110 kit, plus having to machine the cases, the power diff from the 103 to the 110 isnt worth the extra $$$$ With the 103 kit, you dont have to do any bottom end work, except a bearing upgrade. Just an opinion.
I wouldn't spend the extra on a 110, they don't have a "screamin" reputation; if I was going to split the cases again (did a 103 on my 88inch) I'd go 120 but then there goes your warranty. See how much your dealer will let you get out of a 103 top end and cams on your 96 and still retain warranty on your new bike. I realize you can probably get warranty on a 110 but think you'd be dissapointed with the performance for your money...

se 110 is not worth it. if you already have the 96 just go with the 103. that is if you plan on staying with the hd parts and having a warranteable engine. with the hd crap the 103 makes more power per dollar than you will gwt from the 110. if you don't care about the warranty go with the 110 and don't use the hd pistons or cams and have the heads played with and bump up the throttle body too. in the end the money will be close to the same (hd 110 prices vs aftermarket 110 prices) and you will have a faster better tuned combo. just my $.02 of course.
do a 113 kit...it is a lot less work and the parts are cheaper. Your going to have to crack the cases so you might as well get them bored out. You plan on having a high HP motor or did you just want a little more. If you want a nice kick buy new pistons, heads, cams, and a tuner and you'll have a fun time with a 100 hp engine.
htanks for the input guys, I think I will go with the 103. I wnna keep my warranty. My biggest concern is that I wont be inpressed with the Dyna after riding my 1200, my 1200 is very quick, I have never dynoed it but there isnt a bike in my pack that can keep up with it. I dunno, maybe its silly, but my OL will be riding the sportster, and I dont want her to have a faster bike than me. heh
Oh please......If your sporty is prett much stock a good 103 (not a SE 103) would live it in the dust.
My work mate bought a 1200 three days after I bought my Dyna and after my HQ 95 kit he has not ridden with me in almost a year!

I have a FXDSE-2 with the 110. 8000 miles no problems. Friends with the 95(88 big bore) 96's and 103,s can,t even stay in the same time zone. That being said if I were you I would go with the 103 and not split the cases.
